Pomislim ‘nazvat će me’ kao prije nekoliko dana.

Mi smo svi sada tužni, a ja sam siguran da on negde gore sada nasmejava sve naše prerano otišle”, kaže Šerbedžija.

Predrag Vušović biće sahranjen u Dubrovniku, a komemoracija će se održati u ponedeljak, 21. februara 2011. u 11.00 sati u GDK ‘Gavella’.

Jet Harris, The Shadows bassist, dies aged 71

Jet Harris, the original bass player with The Shadows, has died of cancer aged 71.

Harris is reputed to be one of the first musicians in the UK to play the bass guitar

The guitarist, who played on number one hits including Apache, died at his partner's home in Winchester, his agent Peter Stockton said.

Sir Cliff Richard paid tribute to his former bandmate, saying: "Jet was exactly what The Shadows and I needed - a backbone holding our sound together."

Earlier this month, Harris cancelled all his appearances due to ill health.

"Jet, the bass player, will always be an integral part of British rock 'n' roll history," Sir Cliff added. "Losing him is sad - but the great memories will stay with me. Rock on, Jet."

Mr Stockton said: "He was a man who was so courageous and determined and kept saying 'I will beat this'.

"The last time he went on stage he said he didn't want to let people down and I could see he was struggling a bit, but he got a standing ovation. Regrettably it was the last concert he did on 5 February."

Born Terence Harris in London, the guitarist got his biggest break in 1958 when he was on tour with the Most Brothers.

On the same bill as Cliff Richard and the Drifters, he later joined the group permanently and made his recording debut on Sir Cliff's third single Livin' Lovin' Doll.

'Incredibly loyal'

In 1959, Harris was credited with coming up with the group's new name, The Shadows, and they went on to have a string of hits including Man of Mystery, The Savage and Wonderful Land.

Harris was awarded an MBE for services to Music in 2010

In 1962, he left the band and had two top 30 solo hits with Besame Mucho and The Man With The Golden Arm.

He also formed a duo with ex-Shadows drummer Tony Meehan, producing the number one hit Diamonds in 1963 and scoring top five songs with Scarlett O'Hara and Applejack.

After a quiet period, Harris began touring again in the late 1970s and continued to tour intermittently around Europe for the subsequent 20 years.

In 1998 he was awarded a Fender Lifetime Achievement Award for his role in popularising the bass guitar in Britain.

He released a new album, The Journey, in 2007, and continued to tour the UK with Shadows tribute band The Rapiers.

He was made an MBE for services to Music in the 2010 New Year's Honours list. He is survived by his partner, Janet Hemingway.

A family friend speaking on her behalf said: "Jet was a one-off. He had a wonderful sense of humour and was incredibly courageous and incredibly loyal to his friends and family."

Quote:Film legend Elizabeth Taylor dies at 79
By BOB THOMAS, Associated Press Bob Thomas, Associated Press

LOS ANGELES – Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor, the violet-eyed film goddess whose sultry screen life was often upstaged by her stormy personal life, died Wednesday at age 79.

She died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks, publicist Sally Morrison said.

"All her children were with her," Morrison said.

Taylor had extraordinary grace, fame and wealth, and won three Oscars, including a special one for her humanitarian work. But she was tortured by ill health, failed romances and personal tragedy.

"I think I'm becoming fatalistic," she said in 1989. "Too much has happened in my life for me not to be fatalistic."

Her eight marriages — including two to actor Richard Burton — and a lifelong battle with substance abuse, physical ailments and overeating made Taylor as popular in supermarket tabloids as in classic film festivals.

Taylor disclosed in November 2004 that she had congestive heart failure. But she still periodically dismissed reports that she was at death's door, saying she used a wheelchair only because of chronic back problems that began at age 12 when she fell from a horse.

"Oh, come on, do I look like I'm dying?" she said in May 2006 in a rare television interview on CNN's "Larry King Live." "Do I look like or sound like I have Alzheimer's?" Tabloids report such things "because they have nothing else dirty to write about anybody else," she said.
When she turned 75 the following year, she was asked about the secret to her longevity and quipped: "Hangin' in."

The London-born actress was a star at age 12, a bride and a divorcee at 18, a screen goddess at 19 and a widow at 26.

She appeared in more than 50 films, and won Oscars for her performances in "Butterfield 8" (1960) and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (1966), in which she starred opposite Burton.

In later years, she was a spokeswoman for several causes, most notably AIDS research. Her work gained her a special Oscar, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, in 1993.

As she accepted it, she told a worldwide television audience: "I call upon you to draw from the depths of your being — to prove that we are a human race, to prove that our love outweighs our need to hate, that our compassion is more compelling than our need to blame."

She accepted her many health problems with a stoic attitude.

"My body's a real mess," Taylor told W magazine in 2004. "If you look at it in the mirror, it's just completely convex and concave."
